Common Claim Fibs

A lot of us have done it, or if we haven't, we're bound to know someone who's done it… falsely claiming in order to benefit from a swanky new phone!   

Here are just a few of the excuses frequently used, which mobile insurance providers can spot a mile off:

• 'I've lost my phone' - seems simple enough, right? Surely if you claim to have lost your phone, then you can get a new one and sell the other one on? NO! Mobile phones are tracked - your network provider will track your phone and cancel it when it is reported as missing, to prevent it from being used by somebody else. 

• 'My phone has been stolen' - don't even bother with this one if it's not true… a false report of theft can lead to prosecution of wasting police time, not to mention fraud. You don't really want to have to deal with that one, do you? 

• 'My phone is broken' - there are bound to be bumps and scrapes during the course of a mobile's life, but if you've dropped it after a few too many pints down the pub, or it's fallen out of your pocket during a game of office rounders, you're more than likely to get found out. 

The above excuses are to be avoided at all costs; if you think you can beat the system, think again. At, we try our best to prevent false claims in order to ensure truthful claims are dealt with quickly and successfully.
