Google Nexus 7

How long have you had it: I've had this tablet for about 6 months now.

Battery life: The battery life is OK considering that I use it a lot for watching films. I usually charge it again after a day’s use, but if I was just surfing I think the battery would last a lot longer.

Camera: There’s no rear-facing camera on the Google Nexus 7, just a forward-facing one for using with chat video. I wasn't really bothered about having access to a camera to take pictures anyway, so it didn't matter for me.

Design: The design looks very sleek but is not that practical because Google has reduced the frame width, making it quite difficult to hold without putting fingerprints on the screen.  The backing is a bit slippery, and it’s quite easy to drop if you don’t have a case.

Usability: The Google Nexus 7 is quite user-friendly - smooth and quick to respond. Apps are easy to download and organise, and I like the fact that Google+ is already installed.

Do you regret getting it: No, I don’t regret it, but I’m going to think more about the practical aspects of using a tablet next time, particularly the width of the surround.

What’s the worst point: It feels awkward to hold this tablet at times, mainly due to the fact that the screen extends almost to the edge of the device. This also means lots of fingerprint marks on the screen!

What’s the best point: The screen display is amazing. I've seen the iPad Air screen and this is even better – so crisp and clear – great for watching films.
